RPI Rugby Fall Outlook

Dear RPI Alumni and Supporters,

The fall is an exciting time for our club and this year is no different. The fall started out on a good note with the club getting some press recognition for their NRB recruiting event. The season is already off to a good start for both teams.

Women's Team Outlook
This fall the women’s side will consist of 18 returning players, 7 of whom will be seniors this year. Last year’s graduating class of 5 included the team’s starting 9 and 10. The team is working with some promising young talent to fill those key rolls and are optimistic about the season. The team’s incredible “Because of Rugby” campaign is not to be missed and they hope it will play a key role in recruiting more players. #8 Tierney Morton expressed her optimism that they will return to the playoffs this year, a first since 2013. The Women dropped their first match against Cortland 14-47. Women's Fall Schedule

Men's Team Outlook
This fall the men face a challenging season with changes throughout the organization. Center Anthony Cormace has been instrumental has been keeping the team active on the field and in the gym as they prepare for the season. For the first time in 5 years the team is working with a new coaching staff. The RRAA welcomes Cody Clifford ’15 as he takes over the role of Head Coach from Ryan Clapp ’09. The Men also graduated 5 players last year leaving the team with a solid base of young experienced players. Hopes abound to match last year’s semi-final appearance and national ranking (29th). The Men faced off against Siena for their season opener but fell short 12-16. The next week the men came roaring back to defeat Montclair State University 53-12. Men's Fall Schedule

Both Men and Women are playing at home on Anderson Field during Homecoming weekend, we hope to see you there!
