Summer Alumni Update

Can-Am Rugby Tournament
As always, we will be taking the pitch this summer in the Adirondack Mountains at the Can-Am Rugby Tournament in Saranac Lake. This year’s tournament is July 31st – August 2nd and we are sending both a Men's and Women's team! Lodging this year will be a bit different than years past. This year North Country Community College is under renovations and unavailable. The RRAA is organizing camping reservations for those that enjoy the outdoors; but if a weekend of rugby along with sleeping on the ground isn't your thing there are plenty of houses and hotels available in the region. Even if you aren't joining us on the pitch  we would love for you to come spend the weekend.
Spring Alumni Weekend Recap
Spring Alumni weekend was held the first weekend in May (May 1-3) in Troy, NY. The event was a great success! The weekend started out with a traditional Tour de Troy pub crawl. Starting at the Ruck we enjoyed a bottle share curated by Dave Gardell and Mark White. Dave was generous in opening some rare bottles and Mark brought a sampling of great beers from San Diego. On Saturday morning the alumni descended on a breakfast buffet complete with cocktails and nostalgic rugby story telling. In the afternoon, members from the Men's and Women's team competed in their respective Alumni vs Active matches...and of course the Alumni won the day.  In the end we all feasted on a meal fit for champions from Dinosaur BBQ in Troy. Overall it was an awesome weekend. We Had over 35 Alumni/ae join us. Our next Alumni gathering will be in October for Homecoming, and again in May of 2016 for Alumni Weekend, we hope you and your family can join us.

Summer Happy Hour Series
Coming soon to a bar near you! We are in the process of planning a Summer Happy Hour Series, in different locations across the NY Metro Area (and elsewhere if we can). If you are interested in hosting please contact Gene or Ryan. Your first drink is on us!

The RRAA can’t wait to see everyone again at our upcoming events! If you have any questions or want to be more involved please feel free to reach out to us.
