Thank you to everyone that attended and made the weekend one to remember. Both the Men's and Women's clubs added wins to their record this weekend, downing local rival Siena College.
The women played a game under the lights on Thursday. The Engineers stepped on to the field backed by a great crowd. At the opening kick off the team was firing on all cylinders, punching holes in the Siena defense. Siena would not give up easily making the Engineers work for all 80min. At the full time whistle RPI 37 Siena 14.
Gathering once again on Anderson Field the Men of RPI were set to square off for their Saturday afternoon match. RPI scored early (12:36) with Man of the Match, Frank Emory, dotting one down in the corner to start things for the engineers. The men kept the pressure on scoring again before Siena could answer. The Saint's did not give up, scoring 2 times within 6 minutes. At the half, 19-15. With some new players entering the match for the Engineers, RPI started to pull away. RPI touched down an impressive 7 tries that game and send Siena home with a 43-15 loss.
After the day was over the Alumni gathered for our 2nd annual craft beer dinner, hosted by The Ruck. Chef Rachel did an amazing job putting together an epic meal again. From the ale braised short ribs to the chocolate cake and all the beer in between it was a great time.
Thank you again to those that joined us and we will see you in spring.
